Be aware of continuing financial pressures when it comes to home extension planning ….both now …....

Updated: May 24, 2023

These are for sure most difficult times, as the current year ends, what with the energy, mortgage, bank rate and cost of living pressures - revved up making havoc for the property market outlook for the next week… nextmonth… or probably also … the next year!

We at Mint have successfully - over the past few weeks - highlighted the potential ‘safety first’ advantages reference looking to extend or renovate to improve things at home, as needed, and not take a chance on a challenging, uncertain ‘full on’ home move.

sure-footed option

Extending or renovating - as the weeks tick on towards 2023 - still seems to be a safer option though at the moment. It seems, a more sure footed option right now -for  all homeowners, under pressure for better, improved space at home!  Remember, if you can successfully renovate or extend for the near future, you will also surely add value… and ‘yes’ ….that will surely help financially in the longer term!

anticipation

Staying put and improving ‘at home’ must surely be of benefit - it gives things time to settle, in anticipation of a possibly improved outlook emerging by late Spring or Summer next year. Reference extending and renovating as the FMB reported online recently, these costs are easing upwards in certain respects due to the key rising pricing of materials coming into play.

considered prices

So, you do need to be sure, that you get carefully considered prices for any project work you consider and, also, be clear about all the possible unknown quantities - linked to the likes of International pricing, which just could be coming into play and further effect your budgeting as you plan the best timeline and budget for your extension or renovation project.

Known’ affordable pricing ‘essential’

So, if you’re looking to keep the financial impact of your renovation or extension build to a set, clearly known, affordable price, there could well be important steps to consider reference product supplies and related, wide-ranging, changing costs.

understand

We at Mint understand about the pressures on the various product markets and can present a most fair and reasonable scenario in step with - and responsive to - your particular plans and your project timeline. We are, of course, only too pleased to help guide and reassure you as best we can …. reference improving and extending soon or just staying put as you are, and carefully planning and researching options for say Spring next year, by which time (hopefully), more certain project pricing ‘trends’ should be emerging.

right approaches

Consider first …..check ..research …and be confident …these are the approaches very much needed this Winter - and probably, also, well into next year too - whatever your extension, renovation or even home-moving plans may be!

best-shelved

Any rushed or ill-judged over confident actions ….or any ‘that’ll work’ type decisions are best shelved right to the bottom of your life planning for now and, probably, even for the next six months perhaps  …that’s for sure. Good luck to all …..and here’s to getting that very best of luck’ we all SO need as soon as possible!
