Check out the continuing financial pressures when choosing whether to extend your home ….or make ...

These are, for sure, difficult times as the now current year gets underway , what with the energy, mortgage, bank rate and cost of living crises - hopefully now easing downwards a little and perhaps offering a tentative, if a somewhat confusing outlook for the property market outlook for the next week… month… …..or even we’d bet … possibly most of the whole year ahead!

We at Mint have successfully - over the past few weeks - highlighted the potential ‘safety first’ advantages of looking to extend or renovate to improve things at home, as needed, and not take a chance on a ‘full on’ home move for a while.

sure-footed option

Extending or renovating still - even as the weeks tick on into 2023 - seems to be a safer - and it seems, a more sure footed option - for homeowners under pressure for better space at home!  Remember, if you can successfully renovate or extend for the near future, you will surely add value… and ‘yes’ ….that must, must, surely be a help for one’s longer term future financially!

anticipation

Doing so must surely be of benefit in order to give things time to settle, in anticipation of a possibly new improved outlook emerging by the up and coming Spring. The FMB reported online recently, how house renovation and extension costs are easing upwards in certain respects due to key rising materials pricing still, to an extent at least, in play.

considered prices

So, you need to be sure, that you get carefully considered prices for any project work you consider and, also, be clear about all the possible unknown quantities - linked to the likes of International pricing, which could still be in play and thus effect your budgeting as you plan the best timeline for your project.

Known’ affordable pricing ‘essential’

So, if you’re looking to keep the financial impact of your renovation or extension build to a clearly known affordable price, there could well be important steps to consider reference products supplies and changing cost effects.

understand

We at Mint understand about the pressures on product markets and can present a most fair and reasonable scenario in step with…and responsive to …your particular plans. We are, of course, only too pleased to help guide and reassure you reference improving and extending soon or just staying put as you are, and carefully planning and researching options for say Spring next year, by which time (hopefully), more certain project pricing ‘trends’ should be emerging.

right approaches

Consider first …..check ..research …and be confident …these are the approaches still very much needed as we head into Spring - whatever your extension, renovation or even home-moving plans may be.

best-shelved

Any rushed or ill-judged approaches ….or over-confident ‘that’ll work’ type decisions are best shelved right to the bottom of your life planning for now ….and for maybe even for the next six months perhaps …that’s for sure.

Good luck to all …..and here’s to getting that very best of luck’ we all SO need for what will be a challenging and for sure changeable and hard to predict 2023 ahead!
