Extend Now.. and still Move Later….?

Updated: May 29, 2023

We, as a business, have maintained an impressive programme of home extension and renovation project activity through the recent pandemic years. Up to now, activities have been manageable in our field … if not, at times, exceptionally challenging!

But, looking forward from now - with the Summer all but behind us - is leading us to perhaps think that, due to what looks like an exceptional, challenging energy ‘price-rise’ cost of living crisis laden Winter ahead - an all new momentum of our successful ‘Extend Now - Move Later initiative could again emerge well to the fore. It could very well now be a distinct case of Extend Now …..Still Move Later!

backed-up

Key to consider now, I think, is whether there will indeed be a new momentum of home sales ‘backed up’ through the up and coming ‘prices- pressured’ Winter ahead. This being so, the Spring of 2023 looks likely to bring about a new optimistic ’built-up’ home-moving momentum?

financial pressures

For sure, we see a period of ‘quite major’ slow down in home moves emerging from now, as homeowners ‘battle’ to cope with paying for what they already have, as opposed to taking on the expense and extra pressures of a ‘full-on’ home move.

no ‘home-move

Certainly then this year, more so than over the past three years, from late Autumn, house prices may well-slow more generally, as people, with the eye to current rising home expenses - led by energy uncertainty, and the like - ‘count out’ a home move for now…(unless perhaps it’s a downsize perhaps?)!!!!

feasible

If this ‘we’ll wait and see scenario’ comes about, it may be that - as we see it - home improvement projects WILL come to the fore as a feasible and ‘best choice’ for homeowners through this uncertain Winter, the early 2023 Spring - and even also the early Summer period too!

redress

Carrying out such projects - in this ‘no go’ move time will, as we see it, certainly, on the one hand improve life at home and, on the other, add vital value to property, which could then, in time, surely help redress the financial pressures, which look certain to have piled up upon us from now and through the Winter looming ahead .

realistic

We expect our previously effective, original ‘Extend Now - Move Later’ approach to again this time make a ‘later on’ home move STILL the best way to go as we move ahead throughout 2023. It will be, I think, the more surefooted and realistic proposition, as by then, a clearer, possibly less- troubled and fractious financial outlook could be emerging.

fingers crossed

Tough decisions are ahead for all of us, so good luck with whatever you decide. For sure, we, for our part, have our fingers and everything else crossed!

right message

Time will tell to see whether Extend Now - Still Move Later!! will indeed prove to be right THE exactly right message and new approach for what looks like our new challenging up and coming near-to future immediately ahead
