Thinking of moving home?  Wait! - instead have a think about NOT moving for now!

Updated: May 14, 2023

Now is the time - we would say - NOT to move home ..but to improve and extend instead  … and then move….. when financial life, day by day, is better than it is NOW! Read on for ideas as to  how ….and why!….

For sure, the uncertainties and confusion reference the current housing market ‘ups and downs’ continue. Word is that the overall outlook, in general, could probably become even more ‘negative’ in many respects for the rest of this year ….and probably for at least half of next year too… might well surmise!

financial negatives galore!

Moving home  right now is a tough step for many to take - set as it is against the stresses and strains of up and down interest rates and fluctuating mortgage costs, not to mention  supporting additional financial ‘negatives’ such as the cost of energy and the building pressures of the immediate longer term financial outlook ….and alarming, flailing economic growth.

We at Mint have been finding that a good few homeowners, needing to move for more space at home, are definitely pondering and weighing up more closely whether a home extension or renovation of their current home really IS THE better choice…. at least for this year… and ideally g for a good part of next year too… for sure with even scant consideration a home project looks a ‘no brainer’ when weighed up against the challenges of a ‘full on’ home move!

careful consideration

For sure, an ‘extend now - move later’ approach very much warrants THE most careful consideration these days. We, at Mint feel there are indeed very clear reasons why for many homeowners, an improvement project IS the truly realistic alternative to a home move and for sure warrants careful weighing up and close - very close - considered thought  and wide- ranging, most attentive consideration.

considered thought

More and more, we at Mint are finding of late that more homeowners really are carefully discussing, considering and looking into the advantages - for now - of an extension and renovation instead of moving home.

weighed up

There are - for sure - various issues and and considerations to be weighed up to ensure the best most positive outcome for your project, in terms of the advantages it will bring to you and yours both now ….and for the future!

So, you’ve just got to consider all angles of this ‘stay or move’ issue. Be clear as to the advantages you can achieve in all respects….both for now ….and in the future….Also, take full account of how you can indeed best make the right choice. Have a careful think about moving …and consider even more closely about how a home project can get more space at home for now….with any hazardous expensive home moving.
