Planning Process
In brief
Your first port of call will normally be your local planning department via the link above. Whilst subject to change, you can normally obtain pre-application advice FREE during a telephone conversation or for a modest fee of £50 for a valuable 25 minute consultation. They will be pleased to advise you accordingly on any areas of concern. When ready, you will then need to complete and submit your planning application together with the advised fee. Note even straightforward planning applications can take at least 6 weeks to process so prepare well in advance of intended work start date..
